In Papendrecht, the Netherlands, there is a fruit growing farm that can supply apples and pears all year round – VAN OS. VAN OS is a typical family farm, and nature and sustainability have always been the pursuit of VAN OS.
VAN OS is mainly engaged in pears and apples, and follows the seasonal rules. When the leaves fall in winter, they start pruning. In spring, they rely on bees to pollinate. Sustainable development of the fruit market
Fruit cultivation is greatly affected by weather factors. In Papendrecht, it is necessary to constantly monitor the weather and take measures to protect the fruits, especially when blooming. Be careful of night frosts. Spray water on them to try to keep the temperature above zero and create a protective layer.
For sustainable development in the future, VAN OS chooses to install solar photovoltaic power plants. The excellent performance of Growatt inverters has been repeatedly proved in practice. The scalability of the inverter system, advanced AFCI algorithm support, and high-quality and timely after-sales service, etc., all these factors prompted them to choose Growatt.
The power station was completed in July 2020 with a total installed capacity of 710kW. The project equipment uses 8 sets of Growatt MAX 80KTL3 LV photovoltaic inverters and smart energy management systems. The annual power generation is about 1 million kWh.
The cooperation between VAN OS and Growatt continues. At present, in the orchard, the second phase of the power station with a total installed capacity of about 250kw is under construction. It is expected to be completed in October this year. After the project is completed, the total project capacity of Growatt’s power station in Papendrecht Fruit Farm will be about 1MW.
