Since 2024, super-charged batteries have become one of the technological heights that power battery companies are competing for. Many power battery and OEMs have launched square, soft-pack, and large cylindrical batteries that can be charged to 80% SOC in 10-15 minutes, or charged for 5 minutes with a range of 400-500 kilometers. Fast charging has become a common pursuit of battery companies and car companies.

On July 4, Honeycomb Energy released a number of competitive Short Knife new products at the Global Partner Summit. For the pure electric market, Honeycomb Energy has brought the industry’s most advanced 5C lithium iron phosphate Short Knife battery cell, with a 10-80% charging time shortened to 10 minutes, and a 6C ternary super-charged cell, which can meet the ultra-high range and super-charging experience at the same time. Charging for 5 minutes can reach a range of up to 500-600 kilometers. For the PHEV market, Honeycomb Energy has launched the industry’s first 4C hybrid short blade battery cell – “800V hybrid three-yuan dragon scale armor”; so far, Honeycomb Energy’s fast charging products have fully covered 2.2C to 6C, and are fully adapted to passenger car models with different power forms such as PHEV and EV.

Following the release of the second-generation hybrid special short blade battery cell last year, Honeycomb Energy has brought the industry’s first thermoelectric separation three-yuan short blade battery – “800V hybrid three-yuan dragon scale armor”.

As the name suggests, the 800V hybrid three-yuan dragon scale armor battery is suitable for the 800V platform architecture, supports ultra-fast charging, can reach a maximum charging rate of 4C, and follows the dragon scale armor thermoelectric separation technology, which is safer. With the support of 800V+4C fast charging technology, it has become the fastest charging PHEV product in the industry. This revolutionary battery product, designed for the next generation of hybrid vehicles, will be mass-produced in July 2025.

In the current market, PHEV models have become the main force driving the continued increase in the penetration rate of new energy. Honeycomb Energy’s short knife products are naturally suitable for the internal structure of PHEV models, which can effectively avoid the exhaust pipe and achieve high integration and high power.

The product strength of the 800V hybrid ternary dragon scale armor is more prominent. Compared with the traditional PHEV battery pack, this product has achieved a 20% increase in volume utilization. Coupled with the energy density of 250Wh/kg, it can provide PHEV models with 55-70kWh of power selection space, and bring up to 300-400km of pure electric range. This has reached the endurance level of many pure electric vehicles.

More importantly, this product has also achieved a 5% reduction in unit cost, which is more advantageous in price.

5C and 6C supercharged batteries ignite the pure electric market

Honeycomb Energy has also released two supercharged batteries, short knife iron lithium and ternary, for the EV market to meet the urgent needs of car companies to increase charging speed.

The first is a short blade 5C supercharger battery based on the lithium iron phosphate system. This short blade fast charging cell can complete 10%-80% energy replenishment within 10 minutes, and the cycle life can also reach more than 3,500 times. It will be mass-produced in December this year.

The other is a 6C supercharger battery based on the ternary system. 6C has become a battleground for battery companies. The 6C supercharger battery created by Honeycomb Energy has a peak power of 6C in the 10%-80% SOC range, can be charged in 5 minutes, and has a range of 500-600km, which can meet long-distance needs in the time of a cup of coffee. In addition, the whole pack of this product has a power of up to 100-120KWh, and the maximum range can reach more than 1,000KM.

Deeply cultivate the stacking process and prepare for solid-state batteries

In the pre-research of solid-state batteries, Honeycomb Energy also released a ternary semi-solid-state battery product with an energy density of 266Wh/kg at the summit. This is the first product that Honeycomb Energy has defined based on the time, cost and application scenarios for mass production. It is mainly used for special-shaped large-capacity models. Compared with liquid high-nickel batteries, the heat resistance time of this product when forced to trigger thermal runaway has doubled, and the maximum temperature after runaway has dropped by 200 degrees. It has better thermal stability and is less likely to spread to adjacent cells.

In terms of stacking technology, Honeycomb Energy’s “flying stacking” technology has reached a stacking speed of 0.125 seconds/piece. It has been put into large-scale production in Yancheng, Shangrao and Chengdu bases, significantly improving production efficiency. The equipment investment per GWh of the flying stacking process is lower than that of the winding process.

The continuous breakthrough of flying stacking technology is also in line with the current competitive trend of continuous cost reduction in the battery industry. Coupled with Honeycomb Energy’s strategy of large single products, the more it is manufactured, the stronger the scale effect, and the consistency and yield of the products will continue to improve.
